“For the 5’ 6” with the centre channel… theory behind that is you’re inviting air and water into the centre of the board as you pump up the wave face and as you push back down you force it into the deepest, narrowest part and the easiest way for the water to flow is out the back as it begins to widen again hopefully giving you some added “boost” when generating speed! The fin ones are just to help get the water out the rail of the board as you go through your turns to minimise drag!”
